PHOBIA

 an exaggerated usually inexplicable and illogical fear of a particular object, class of objects, or situation.

Many people have fears & phobias and do not know it. This is not a negative thing most but can be very disturbing for others. Some people let fear hold them back from living life; this is when it becomes a problem.
